Celebrate National Library Week

National Library Week 2010

Communities thrive @ your library®: celebrate National Library Week at the Anderson Library @ Olney Central College April 11-17

(Olney, IL) – It’s National Library Week, a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in schools, campuses and communities nationwide.

“Libraries are the heart of every community and our library helps our community thrive,” says Charlotte Bruce, LRC Director. “At our library, people of all backgrounds come together for instruction, meetings, lectures, the computer lab, assistive technology workstations and to do research with the assistance of a trained professional, to get help finding resources for assignments for classes, special projects, pleasure reading and to explore individual interests and potential future careers.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
