Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society

Check out this charming and popular book by Mary Ann Shaffer and Anne Barrows written as letters of correspondence between an author in London and a gentleman on Guernsey Island at the close of World War II when the author is looking for a new idea for a book. You get a sense of what it was like in both places at the end of the war and the human cost of the war as well. Learn how and why the Potato Peel Society began during German occupation of the island and enjoy the warmth and humor that radiate through the letters.
